ELITE – Small Area Body Checking Clinic

Any Programs in ELITE Level must be AA/AAA for Level

This specialized training session is designed to teach players how to properly give and receive body checks in small-area situations. With a maximum of 12 players, this class ensures focused, hands-on coaching to help athletes build confidence and safety in physical play.

Focus Areas:

  • Proper Body-Checking Mechanics: Learning how to deliver legal, effective body checks with balance and power.
  • Absorbing Contact & Staying on Feet: Techniques to take a hit safely, maintain control, and minimize injury risk.
  • Angling & Positioning: Using smart defensive tactics to guide opponents into checking opportunities.
  • Wall & Corner Battles: Training in tight spaces to improve puck protection and physical engagement.
  • Respect & Safety:  Reinforcing clean, legal checks and the importance of avoiding dangerous hits.

Program Details

Ages: 2012 – 2013 | Co-ed – Girls are provided with their own changing rooms.

Skill Level: High-level AAA

Seasons: Spring

Required Gear: Full Hockey Gear – Skates | CSA Approved Hockey Helmet with Face Shield | Gloves & Sticks
